Before and After Daffodils | Cambridgeshire Family Photographer

I have decided that Mondays I will do a before and after on a photo from the week before or even a previous favorite.

Last week the weather was beautiful and we had the first day of Spring; Spring had definitely come to Cambridgeshire last week! I treated myself to some beautiful double head Daffodils for the dining room.
Once they started to open I just couldn't resist a quick snap!

Here is my Before and After :

The first is  SOOC. Nikon D300 with my 50mm lens.

I recently purchased some textures from Sarah Gardner Photography. Sarah was raising money for charity and was selling a set of her textures for £3.00!

My Process :

I firstly checked my histogram and did a slight lighten in levels.Next I ran Primrose action from Florebella at 30%
Then I ran Spring Pastels at 19%
Finally Wheat at 29%
Next I added a Sarah Gardner Texture from Renaissence #4
I then used a large brush to remove the texture from the Daffodils
My final step was to use the burn tool and a large brush around the edge

I am pretty pleased with it and will definitely play some more with other Flora photos.

Now this is pretty neat don't you think! Just perfect for the Interior Designer in me, its like having my own paint chips! I just used the dropper tool to select colours from the photo. The template was from Coffee Shop blog, who I believe were inspired by Design Seeds, another must visit site!
Totally in love with this site!
This is such a great idea if you have a photo that you love the colours and want to decorate a room around a print!

Would love to hear your thoughts on my before and after.
